Sovereign Violence and the Domain of Politics
Abstract
This research deals with the themes of modernity and violence, which are strongly present in the novels of Saadat Hassan Minto, one of the greatest contemporary East Asian writers. It has been known that the issue of violence lies at the heart of the concept of absolute territorial sovereignty. It is similar to Weber's definition of the state's right to monopolize legitimate violence. Mento often uses a bit of sarcasm in describing these allegations, which are completely unjustified.
