Old and New Speech: A Systematic Approach
Abstract
This research studies the history of “speech” and the answer to the question "Is the new science of speech a self-contained science or a renewal of the old speech problems?". It used the inductive method to search for the different claims that called for the renewal of theology. It also used the analytical method to show the rationale and possibility of these claims. It was divided into a preface that discussed the history of the new science of speech, and four chapters. The first discussed the meaning of rhetoric. The second differentiated between the inclusion and contrast of old speech and new speech. The third chapter presented the reasons for renewal. The fourth dealt with the verbal renewal model in the philosophy of Taha Abdulrahman, and a comment. It concluded that the concept of renewal is originally included in our perception of the science of theology, as it is its goal according to the scholars.
