Abstract

This research aims to identify the relationship of Islamic sciences to epistemology, to reveal the controversy of knowledge and ideology, and to provide an evaluation for that. It confirms the overlapping of the parts of knowledge with each other and the intertwining of its branches, which represent a continuous chain of rings. It is impossible to separate one from the other completely and completely. The research focused on the theses of Mohammad Abed Al-Jabri, August Comte, Ernst Mach, Schlingel, and Hegel. It concluded that the ideological battle between science and the Church in Europe made the new positivists reject the categories of tribal ideas, rational intuition, and all investigations of metaphysics, as well as the idea of absolute certainty. The conflict between Marxist theory and positivist theory is an ideological struggle. Positivists expressed their open hostility to Marxism, and Marxists viewed positivism as a theoretical and methodological platform for liberalism.
