Abstract

This research deals with the impact of bias in the use of Western concepts in Arab -Islamic societies by tracking the writings of Abdulwahhab Al-Messiri on the bias, with the application of the concept of progress. The main problem of the research is how the concepts affect the formation of the cognitive model. Is the conceptual bias a direct reason for dependency? How do we deal with the problem of bias? The research assumes that there is a link between the perceptions and intellectual developments of the researcher in social and human sciences and his understanding of prejudice and awareness. And that building a new science to deal with bias is the correct entrance to address and solve this problem. The study is trying to highlight the features of the jurisprudence of bias in Al -Messiri, its approach to building this new science, and its impact on the development of Arab-Islamic sciences and humanities, and evaluating its efforts in building an Arab-Islamic science for bias, and the prospects that this science opens and the required efforts, so that the science of bias becomes a real science which can free our nation from its conceptual and intellectual dependency on Western concepts and sciences.
