Abstract
This study adopts a conceptual framework to explore key issues surrounding the dynamics of culture and civilization, notably the tension between the "clash of civilizations" thesis and the potential for meaningful intercultural dialogue. It examines whether current global conditions allow for constructive civilizational engagement that counters narratives of inevitable conflict and historical finality. Central to this inquiry is the challenge posed by cultural globalization, which, by transcending borders and diluting distinct identities, complicates efforts to establish principles of positive cultural dialogue. The research emphasizes that any serious discourse on civilizational interaction must be rooted in the cultural specificities of societies, engaging with foundational concepts such as identity, globalization, and the dialectic of conflict versus dialogue. These enduring themes, though historically entrenched, remain vital in shaping contemporary intellectual exchanges between the Arab-Islamic and Western spheres.
