“Qur’anic Sciences: Scientific Criticism and an Approach to Construction”: A Book Review
Abstract
The science of Qur’anic sciences still suffers from several conceptual and methodological problems. In light of the discussion of renewal ideas and foundational approaches, this article aims to review the book “Qur’anic Sciences: Scientific Criticism and an Approach to Construction” by Dr. Khalil Al-Yamani. The article is divided into two parts: the first discusses the author’s most important issues that he raised by listing and criticizing the book’s basic problems, and the second focuses on the most important partial problems and follows them up with an evaluation. The article concluded that despite the value of the book and the abundance of material presented in it, the proposal presented in its critical and structural aspects was marred by overlap and weakness, and therefore it does not help in overcoming the issue of science and answering its deep problems.
