A review of the book, “The Misery of Dahranism is the Fiduciary Criticism of Separating Morality from Religion”
Abstract
The article aims to provide a review of the book “The Misery of Dahranism is the Fiduciary Criticism of Separating Morality from Religion,” by Taha Abdulrahman, published by the Arab Network for Research and Publishing, Beirut. The first edition was in 2014 in 191 pages. He pointed out that the importance of this book stems from the fact that it is a philosophical effort that has few counterparts in our Arab world. It also reflects a creative philosophical mind, whose author has been working for decades on ethical criticism of Western modernity, and criticism of its manifestations in the knowledge system, culture and politics. It is part of a series of several books published by Taha Abdulrahman. He stressed that, in this philosophical text, we discover all the possibilities of establishing an independent and creative philosophical discourse, drawing from the determinants of the Arab deliberative field. The writer realized that the problem of the Arab mind is a problem of creative concepts. He also referred to the amount of distortion practiced by modern concepts on traditional concepts.
