Coptic Conversion to Islam and the Islamization of Egypt
Abstract
This article is a translation of Sean O'Sullivan's article "Coptic Conversion to Islam and the Islamization of Egypt." He discussed the Coptic conversion to Islam and referred to the three articles written by Gaston Fate in the 1920s, Perelman in 1942, and Donald Little in 1976. They reinforced the perception that the first century of the Mamluk era represented a turning point in the history of Coptic conversion to Islam. He also referred to Feet’s thought that the Coptic government had set the final seal on Christianity in Egypt.
