Religion in Democracy: the Path of Secularization
Abstract
The article provides a review of the book "Religion in Democracy: the Path of Secularization" by Marcel Gauchet. The first edition of the book was translated by Shafiq Mohsen and published in 175 pages by the Arab Organization for Translation in Beirut in 2007. It discusses the possibility of separating the spirit of religion and the spirit of democracy completely as is familiar in many widespread intellectual contexts. The author relied on his theory that there is a mere transfer of the content of representation between religion and democracy.
