Book Review: Islam and Secularism
Abstract
This article reviews "Islam and Secularism" by Olivier Roy, which is translated by Salih Al-Ashmar. The first edition of the book was published by Dar Al-Saqi in 2016. The book consists of 174 pages. Olivier Roy is a French writer, thinker, and university professor, born in 1949. He is interested and specialized in the affairs of Islamic political movements, and radical fundamentalism in particular. In "Islam and Secularism", Roy deals with the ambiguous and thorny relationship between the rise of Islam and secularism in the West in general, and in France in particular.
