Abstract
This paper aimed to review the major themes in the Dr Wael Hallaq’s study published in the 80s of the last century entitled: “has the door of ijtihad been closed? It deals with the idea of closing and history of ijtihad. The paper also showed the strong points that characterize Hallaq’s study and highlighted some important aspects which he did not focus on in his study, such as referring to some essential sources.
