Abstract
This article presents a review of the book "Philosophical Approaches to Islam and Secularism" by Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas. It is one of the publications of the International Higher Institute for Islamic Thought and Civilization. It consists of six chapters, which deal with the historical roots of the contemporary Christian West, secularism, secularization, the concept of religion and the basis of ethics in Islam, the Islamic impasse and the liberation of knowledge from the Arab vision, and Islamization.
