Hanbali Doctrine and Sufism
Abstract
The translator seeks to translate the article "Hanbali Doctrine and Sufism" by George Makdisi. The article dealt with the relationship between the Hanbali school of thought, Sufism, and Islamic religious movements. It also clarified the stages of Sufism that he concludes through different narrations, namely: 1) The birth and development of Sufism, 2) The struggle of Sufism with official Islam, and 3) The predominance and spread of Sufism despite the rigidity of the Hanbali opposition.
