William James and Education
Abstract
This article is a translation of "William James and Education", by Ronald L. Bodhichi. William James did not have a well-known view in vocational schools for teachers during the 20th century, but appears from time to time in citation. However, for the most part, James is lost in the margins of the 20th-century American educational philosophy. This was our big loss too. In the past decade, the field of philosophy has rediscovered James and examined his relevance to contemporary philosophical movements. It is time for us to start uncovering the education of William James and exploring his writings for their relevance to the contemporary landscape of American education.
