The Application of the Provisions of Sharia in Europe: Scope and limits

Abstract
The research presents a translation of Mathias Rohe's article, entitled “The Application of the Provisions of Sharia in Europe: Scope and Limits”. It consisted of an introduction, three axes and a conclusion. The first axis answered: What is Sharia, the second axis dealt with the levels of application of Sharia provisions, and the third axis dealt with religious rulings, and legal rulings. It is concluded that European legal systems face the challenges of the Islamic presence in Europe with a mixture of strategies ranging from integration to discrimination.
