The question of the method in sociological knowledge: From positivism paradigm to interpretive paradigm
Abstract
This research paper aims to try to provide an answer to the question of the approach in sociological knowledge, Proceeding from a Directed hypothesiss, it assumes that sociological knowledge has been subject to paradigmatics in its historical cognitive course, and employs a critical analytical method in its testing, So we talked in the first element: the legitimacy of Classification sociological knowledge from a paradigm positivism; We indicated that classification using theory or method does not help us in determining the determinants of sociological knowledge, And we highlighted in the second element: the nature of positivism paradigm in sociological knowledge, Referring to his basic methodological rules, such as his concept of scientific truth, his view of social phenomena as objects, and the causal interpretation of them, In the third element : The question of the curriculum in sociological knowledge from the perspective of Al-Baraigham interpretive, We referred to his reference to the new Kantian philosophy, his vision of what are social phenomena, and his rules for understanding and interpreting social action, And in the fourth and last element, we presented a set of methodological alternatives that were brought up in contemporary sociological knowledge, such as critical and pragmatic, As these alternatives attempted to overcome the contradictions in which the pradigm occurred with its positional and interpretative duality, we have demonstrated that these alternatives to their methodological value have not been elevated to the alternative paradigm.
